Poem: Tightrope

Excerpt from Four: “Dear Brother”

The line

Of your emotions

Was so thin

It was like constantly walking

Tiptoe on a tightrope

Even if I faltered by accident

You’d run from me

And hide

Until your confidence

Was bandaged

When the line became so thin

That speaking was no longer

An option

I let my words

Turn to silence
