Piece: Prospect Park House

Prospect Park House

Designed for the site of Prospect Park in Providence Rhode Island, this modular hexagonal house was based off of the concept of weaving. Intended for a “Monument Keeper” and his wife, this house features a public historical gallery, as well as a private workshop, kitchen, living, bed, and bath. It also features a variety of “woven” wood paneling, to, depending on placement, emphasize privacy, beautiful city views, and more, all while allowing the flow of natural light. Finally, a spiral staircase made with woven wooden panels and boards weaves together the public and private spaces, the different floors, and, with a skylight at the top, the interior and the exterior of the house.
